Ideas Unbound

The DCI Family is the theme of this year in judging. To bring judges closer together, we’ve created this quarterly newsletter bringing you news and stories from all over the globe. Future issues will focus on the latest Pro Tour—which is the greatest regular gathering of judges.

This newsletter is not meant to replace official announcements or judge articles. The former are issued as needed and carry the official voice of the DCI. The latter focus on a single topic or aspect of judging and are meant as learning material as part of the body of knowledge we call policy.

Rather, this newsletter, supplements the above publications. It’s meant to share the status of high profile projects (Part the Veil), give a glimpse at the DCI’s past (Ancestral Memories), and provide a forum to share some fun stories (Show & Tell, Nicolas’s Corner).

As mentioned earlier, the feature article of future newsletters will be that quarter’s Pro Tour. The issue editor will bring facts, stories, interviews from this event, to share with the whole judge community.

Since this is our first issue, we are still looking to find our feet, and I’d like to hear from you—your opinions, ideas, and contributions for future editions. I’d like this newsletter to bring judges together not only be reading, but by collaborating in its creation. I’m especially looking for interesting stories about the Magic2010 changes in practice.
